<\Break><\Indent 20> òIn a portal area, such as the Entrance, the Library, Galleries, or Discovery, certain items are highlighted when you roll the cursor over them and your cursor changes from a plain pointer to a pointing hand.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òThe cursor change is always an indication that clicking cause you either to transfer to another part of the disc or call up a pop up box.<\Break><\Break>
NAVIGATE
<\Break><\Indent 20> òClick on the Navigate button in the toolbar.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òThe Navigate window is displayed, with thumbnails screenshots of some of the main areas on the disc.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òClick on the area you want to go to.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òThe lower part of the Navigate window has a scrolling field that keeps track of your journey through the disc, from most recent to earliest.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òTo return to where you've been, scroll through the list until you find the place you want to go and click on it.<\Break>
Note: Pop-up windows such as the Search window, the Glossary index, and pop-up notes within books will not appear in your history.<\Break><\Break>
THUMBNAILS
<\Break><\Indent 20> òThroughout the disc, you can drag a thumbnail of an artwork into your portfolio.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òFrom your portfolio, double-click on thumbnails of artworks, artists, media clips, Director's Choice exhibit items, or text excerpts in your portfolio to return to the item's original context.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òDrag a thumbnail from the Portfolio onto the Timeline, the Maps, or the Datadisc , and the screen will snap automatically to the appropriate display.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òDouble-click on most images on the disc to go to their main context.<\Break><\Break>
GO BACK/GO FORWARD
<\Break><\Indent 20> òThere is a Go Back/Go Forward button on the toolbar.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òClick on the lower arrow to step back through the screens you've visited.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òClick on the upper arrow to go forward.<\Break>
Note: The Go Back and Go Forward buttons track through the history scroll box in the Navigate window, and you will not return to pop-up windows such as the Search window or the Glossary index.<\Break><\Break>
HYPERLINKS
<\Break><\Indent 20> òRed text denotes a hyperlink.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òClick on the red hyperlink to transfer to the linked spot on the disc.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òRed ellipses . . . also denote a hyperlink, generally to expanded text, such as the full title of a work of art or a full description of it in the Catalog of Artworks.<\Break>
Note: The small red icon in the book texts, displays an illustration on that page when clicked.<\Break><\Break>
NEXT/PREVIOUS
<\Break><\Indent 20> òBook pages and Timeline segments also have next and previous buttons in the lower right hand corner.<\Break><\Break>
STACKS
<\Break><\Indent 20> òIn the Portfolio in the Toolbar, the Maps, and the Timeline, multiple images may be stacked on top of one another.
<\Break><\Indent 20> òClick on the Next and Previous arrows to cycle through the stack.<\Break><\Break>
